5. The “1765” engraving

Below the label of the original Hennessy bottle is a “1765” engraving that bulges out of the surface of the bottle. Fake replicas of the whiskey do not have this engraving, or sometimes the imprint does not bulge and can not be felt by touch.

6. Unique serial number

With every single Hennessy bottle comes a unique number on the back label. However, all Original bottles have the same format for the serial number - 1 Letter 12 Digits. The serial number is imprinted on a black background for an authentic bottle. The absence or even a blurry serial number indicates a free Hennessy drink.
